Shuta Shinoda, a Japanese Record Producer, Mixer, and Engineer, has made his mark in the vibrant East London music scene.

After completing an audio engineering course at SAE Institute London, Shuta commenced his career as a tape op at one of Tokyo’s most bustling recording studio complexes. Upon returning to London, he established himself at Hackney Road Studios, honing his expertise in both digital and analogue recording. Notably, he utilizes a Studer A80 2” machine in his recording sessions.

Shuta’s impressive career includes collaborations with renowned artists such as Hot Chip, Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Spiritualized, Daughter, GhostPoet, Anna Meredith, Jehnny Beth, Red Snapper, Lawrence (Felt, Denim), Baio (Vampire Weekend), and more.

His notable achievements include contributing to albums that clinched two Mercury Prize Awards – GhostPoet’s “Shedding Skin” in 2015 and Anna Meredith’s “FIBS” in 2020. Additionally, his work has earned recognition at the SAY Awards, with Anna Meredith’s “Varmints” winning in 2016 and Babe’s “Tell & Kiss” securing victory in 2018. In 2020, Anna Meredith’s “FIBS” added another SAY Award to Shuta’s accolades.

Shuta Shinoda’s contributions to the music industry were further acknowledged when he won the Music Producer Guild MPG “Breakthrough Engineer of the Year” in 2021. Additionally, three albums under his production have been nominated for the “UK Album Of The Year” long-list in 2021, solidifying his status as a rising talent in the field.
